Pry Open Garage Door

Unplugging the garage door opener before you try to manually open or reconnect your garage door will keep you safe.

When the first roller is lined up with the part of the track you pried open hold the garage door in place with your non dominant hand. Pull the garage door down so the roller lines up with the track you pried open. Ever forget your keys to the house or even lost your garage door remote. Unplug the automatic door opener.

Doing so can damage the weather seal at the bottom of the door. When you open a garage door by hand make sure to stay safe. Also it isn t a good idea to cycle the opener repeatedly in an attempt to break the door loose from the ice. By disengaging the safety release on your door the door can be rolled up by hand to let a thief inside and then quickly back down as if nothing were out of the ordinary.

If the power comes back on the opener might attempt to open the door while it is disengaged which can make it harder to reconnect. These things can leave you at the mercy of a lo. The trolley moves along the chain drive the long track attached to the ceiling when the garage door is opening or closing attached via a metal bar to the inside top of the garage door. Don t pry under the door with a shovel or other metal object.

And if you pry hard enough the entire lower panel may be gouged or broken.
