Only Driver Door Lock Switch Works

I checked all fuses even 68 relay but still could not find problem i drove 18 miles in 30 degree weather at nite got home and was very confused with this truck.

Only driver door lock switch works.

Power mirror switches all driver. Next check the door lock switch and door lock actuator. The power door lock on the driver s door works fine with the remote and inside switch. Some cars have the power window power mirror power lock and even power seat controls all on the door.

Check the owner s manual i know the dreaded book of the car and see if there is a process for changing the key fob options and how to perform this change. The door lock doent open close with any switches on the passenger driver switch pad nor does it open with my remote. It seems like there must be a passengers door switch that sends power to all of the passenger door locks but i don t know where it is. Cars that have lots of controls on the door are more likely to have a setup like this.

You ll need a computer safe test light or digital multimeter to perform these next tests and you ll have to remove the door lock switch from the door panel and even the door panel itself. It does open close when i insert the key in the driver side door. I purchased a used door lock control unit mounts in the drivers door and plugged it in and it does the exact same thing. Passenger window switch back window switches driver s door master switches not working. If i insert the key into the passenger side door the lock doesnt open close.

If the door locks work with the driver door switch then this is probably not an electrical problem and more along the lines of an options setting. However vehicles without door lock cylinders will not be able to lock or unlock the doors until power is restored. For vehicles equipped with door lock cylinders the door can still be opened using the key. The driver side window was stuck down and all door locks would not work all the other windows went up and down as they should but still no drivers window or door locks.

Refer to a shop manual for direction on how to remove the door panel. For vehicles with traditional style door lock cylinders and keys a bad power door lock relay will merely disable the power door lock feature.
